VanHook 0 #1 Posted October 20, 2010 Hello everyone, I have been looking aroung the site for awhile now and have enjoyed it what a great forum. I have an electro 12 that has been in the family for probably 20 years. I would like to find out about what year it was made and any other info on this model that I can. What years were they produced? Unfortunately the data plate is missing. I am also looking for a snow plow for too. Thanks. Chad
pumper.atv 26 #2 Posted October 20, 2010 1968,69,70 Serial number under dash will help We also want pics :)
Buzz 502 #3 Posted October 20, 2010 First of all, The Electro 12 was made for three years 1968-1969-1970. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the years, but according to Toro, the 1968 and 1970 models had Kohler K301-47371C engines. The 1969 had a Kohler K301-47147C engine. check and see which one yours has. If yours is the 1969, you can download a manual for it from Toro. Go to: https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm Put 1-7245 fro model and "none" for serial number. Have fun.

TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #5 Posted October 21, 2010 In general, '68 & '69 both had the "old style" hood. '68 had magneto ignition and a steel seat pan. '69 had breakerless ignition and a fiberglass seat pan. 1970 has the "new style" hood. (like a first & second generation C series)

TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #9 Posted October 21, 2010 TT, are you sure about the seat pan, my 69 is steel If it's the original 1969 molded (one-piece cushion) seat, the seat pan is fiberglass.
jusjeepn 59 #10 Posted October 21, 2010 TT is correct! 68 came with the steel low back seat with 2 cushions. The 69 came with the fiberglass one piece seat and the 70 is the steel mid back seat with 2 cushions that is the most popular seat W/H used! Along with hoods that TT mentioned, the decals on the 68 and 69 were wood grained and the 70 was the gray and red.
