stoneman 10 #13 Posted October 19, 2010 Here's the C-81 with my log splitter. Me and a friend built it about 8 years ago. It was powered with a rope pull 10 horse wisconsin untill . . . I came across this 14 horse linimar with electric start for 100.00. I'm about to try it out. If everything works okay . . . I'll bring it back in the shop and paint the gas tank, do a little weld grinding and paint a few brackets I made and button up a few odds and ends. I still don't have that low oil pressure light wired right. It stays on all the time. I'll figure it out. maybe. I don't heat with wood anymore, but I do need to split a little cookin' wood. This is some hickory that's still green in the middle. Nice flavor, but my favorite is heart wood of a freshly cut apple butt log. Works pretty good. One thing is though, that linimar has no carb adjustments, and it seems to miss a little at the high speed. Why would they even make a carb that you can't adjust? I may have to look into a workable replacement.
