Newbie here but not with Wheel Horse

I have a curiosity question about this tractor. I bought it from a school corp. everything looks stock the motor (K241) serial # 4252272, says 1972 and the tractor model number as it is on the tractor is 103608. Can't find anything for that # but on here found a list that shows a 1-0360 as a 1973 Raider. Is this a crazy Wheel Horse mfg.thing like a model change year? Thanks, for any help I'll be needing more help for sure! I bought this with a broke connecting rod winter project.

I've owned a 1972 Charger 10 Auto and a 1979 C-161 Twin Auto

1-0360 is a 1973 "10 / 8 speed" - wrongfully identified as a Raider on just about every website with Wheel Horse information. (see - don't believe everything you read/see/hear on the internet :wh: )

They are affectionately know by many as the "no-name tractors", built during the buyout of Wheel Horse by AMC. Although they share many parts with both the "football team" models and the later B & C series, the decals (and lack of official name) make them a unique, one-year machine.

This was my 12 / 8 speed from a few years ago:

Thanks, for the welcome and thanks for the info!

I wondered if it was a model year change. My '79 C-161 twin auto was (I was told) a one year only as well how do I keep ending up with that? Now I wish I had it back more than ever I think it be super cool to have two "one of kind" Horses!

The C-161 was my first it was a one owner and sweet as candy. It had a snow blade, snow thrower an extra set of ag cleat tires with chains & the rims tubed & filled with calcium, just swap out for winter. I also liked the hydro lift & drive.

I have not tore into the K241 yet, I have'nt rebuilt a motor in so long I hope I haven't forgot. I think I remember these being pretty staight forward, hopefully she'll not need alot to make her happy once I'm doing the repairs.

Thanks, again Doug
