D200 will not start

I am at my wits end on this. It ran fine the other day but for two days now I cannot get a spark to either plug. I've checked the ignition switch, all safety switches, the condenser, etc. I have good 12v to one side of the coil and when I crank the engine I have a good pulse on the other terminal. Everything seems ok right up to the coil but no spark.

Here's a photo of the type of coil on my tractor:

Anyone know which terminal the battery connectes to and which one the condenser goes to? I don't think it was wired backwards but who knows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Kevin

This coil looks like mine only yellow. On mine the positive wire connects to the near post and the point wire and condenser connect to the far post.

Interesting comment I found in a kolher twin service manual (regarding hooking up ignition coil wiring in reverse).

"Reverse polarity can require up to 8,000 more volts to fire plugs"

Thank you, all replies are appreciated. The points are firing, I can see the spark.

The wiries are/were on the correct terminals.

I have also researched this on the net and found a site that explains how to check the ohms of the coil. It seems that my coil is not within specs, I suspect I will have to replace it. Oh well, :) .

Thanks,

Kevin
