Transmission leaks

Hey guys,

I know this is only a "Wheel Horse" in name only as it's really a Toro, but I'm hoping someone here might have some experience with this transmission.

I've got the transmission out of the tractor and it's apparently leaking from inside one of the pass-through bolt holes on the left end of the transaxle. I'm cleaned the outside of the unit and let it sit overnight and it's still dripping out of the hole.

I have 2 questions...

First, is this thing worth even fixing or is this one of those "throw-away" tractors that 11 years is more than expected life-time (it's a 1999).

Second, assuming it's worth fixing...is my only option to break the case open and replace the gasket that's between the halves (and I assume is what's leaking)?
