But this thing is nice and PO has blasted 'n primed most of it !!! But it ain't got no power!! I have some engines I can throw on it! But I want it to be original! Soo... what was the original engine for a 603? The info I found says a 6hp Tecumshea H-60? Is that correct? And if anyone has a correct engine FS shoot me a PM! Thanks! HORSEFEATHERS! rmaynard 14,976 #2 Posted October 9, 2010 You are correct Bud. Toro's master parts viewer show only one 603. The engine listed is a H60-75016. Bob
Gene_S 93 #3 Posted October 9, 2010 Bud are you looking for a runner or a motor that needs rebuilt. I have several H60 motors just most of them are worn out or blown up.

horsefeathers 15 #5 Posted October 18, 2010 Does anyone know if any H60 will work? Engine off a tiller or snow blower are they all the same? Those I have seen have a gear reduction at the crank! Do I need a only engine? Thanks All!!!
wallfish 16,105 #6 Posted October 18, 2010 You just need to find one without the gear reduction and you will also need the mounting plate if you don't have one. A snowblower would be the easiest way to find one, around here they are plentiful.
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #7 Posted October 18, 2010 A one inch diameter PTO end on the crankshaft would be a huge plus too. It'll make it much easier if you can use an original pulley.
wallfish 16,105 #8 Posted October 18, 2010 That's true, most will have a 3/4" PTO shaft. If you're not running attachments, then the 3/4" will work fine to get her going with just a drive pulley. I think the older Ariens snow blowers used motors with 1" shafts.
