MaineDad 87 #1 Posted April 17, 2008 It was 66 degrees and sunny today. A great day except we need 90 degree days to melt all this dang snow. We ended up with nearly a record snow fall this season, 144 inches. Went out to the garden in my snow boots after work and measured the snow pack. We still have about 16 inches. I'm supposed to get my tiller for the 314-8 in two weeks. I hope I don't have to wait too long before playing in the garden

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #3 Posted April 18, 2008 Micah, Sorry to hear that the snow is still on the ground. And even when it melts, it probably still be too muddy to till. At least, there is good news just around the corner. Spring, nice weather, green grass and a tiller.
mailman 1 #4 Posted April 18, 2008 Wow! I feel your pain! I jumped the gun a bit and plowed with my tiller (rear mounted to the Wheel Horse, of course) about 2 weeks ago. then tilled again last week. I won't do that gain. It's a pain working with soil that is clumped and golf ball sized. But I can't imagine not being able to even see the soil yet alone be more than a foot of snow away from it. Just keep thinking warm thoughts. Like that will help.
DMESS 24 #5 Posted April 18, 2008 I'm coming to your house with my snowmobile! I think we got a record 4" here in South Central PA so it wasn't exactly a happy winter around here. I've actually mowed 3 times already.
SunDown 0 #6 Posted April 18, 2008 wow, still snow bound. We got snow last week here in des moines but its gone and we had a few days of dry weather this week so lastnight I took advantage of it and got out and tilled up the garden with the horse....the neighbors never saw such a thing i guess as a few were watching out thier back windows. the ground was a little wet yet but I have a good start.... I just couldnt resist playing in the dirt though, so i feel for ya. the snow will be gone soon and we will be talking about how hot and muggy it is before long.
