Elec. winch recommendations?

I want to get a small winch for implement lifting/downforce, plow lift, etc.

What winches are you guys using, price, strength, etc, and what you think of it.

I can't imagine how a winch would place any downforce on anything. But I had a couple sup $100 Ebay specials on ATV's. If you want a name brand go get a Warn or Ramsey. But for about $100 I pulled my ATV's out more than once. It had to be a few thousand pounds of pull.

You would have to rig up some sort of pulley system to get down preasure using a winch with a cable. An actuator might be a nicer and easier setup.

The shop made 3 pt setup, had a winch mounted between the lower and upper arms. By putting the lift cable on the lower arms, it raised it, and if you put it on the upper arms, it applied pressure. Not very convienent, but for some applications, might be useful.
