D200 releif Valve

Recommended Posts

Rideawaysenior

I think I found it. Has anyone here ever had the releif valve apart? Or possibly a diagram of the internals? I pulled mine apart today and discovered that the releif pistons were not set the same. One appeared to be installed proper, and the other looks as though it was installed backwards. Before I go and make what I think is the proper correction, I want to know if I'm right. I figured better to ask then to just do it and ruin the entire system.

Jack,

The valve assembly there to relieve pressure build up to the drive motor.

Since this is a "new" system Just a couple of questions

did you wet the pump befroe installation?

did you prime the pump after installation?

If not these pumps shoud be self primeing but sometimes they will not and you have to prime them, you can do this on yours by removing both of the lift lines and filling the pump this way.

Hope this helps

Steve,

No, I didn't wet the pump. I assumed that it wa sself priming. I did let it achieve a good prime before working it. I jacked up the rear, and after letting it run on idle for about 5 minutes I tried working the hydro motor, and the 3 point. The wheels would spin until I set the rear back down, and the hitch would only life once, then that was it unless I let it sit for a while it would then build up enough pressure to lift the hitch again. I'm beginning to wonder if the strainer is blocked up. From what I am being told, others seem to think that the charge pump is not getting enough oil to keep the system pressureized. WHat are your thoughts?

My son had my D160 before me. When he got it , it had just been reassembled. The PO had screwed the disengagement screw(the one on the left side) out more than 1 turn. He told me he had to keep screwing it in until the tractor finally started moving.

Just a thought.

Tim,

Thank you for the tip. I've been that route already though. It's a process of elimination. All I'm left with this at this point is a bad hydro motor, clogged strainer, or bad PRV valve. Hopefully, once I remove the strainer and check and clean it my problem will be resolved.
