Sparky-(Admin) 23,263 #4 Posted April 13, 2008 Sounds like you need Joel from the "Vertical Ranch". He'll have all the info you'll ever need on it. Mike..........
combatmp29r 27 #5 Posted April 14, 2008 OK guys we need to come up with a vert signal you know like the Bat signal. Its warm out side so I'm slippin some. A-80-E huh, Its based on a V7 chassis. The E is for electric start and it was made in 1975 only. It is either model # 1-0281, or 1-0282. Do you have any pics of it? Weird trans is a peerless model 648 3 speed. Same trans used in the A100, A800 and a few of the Fiberglass Rangers. The lift and PTO set up is a mix of fiberglass lawn ranger and V8/V7 stuff. The Deck is the same 32" one used under the fiberglass rangers too. Any other info you want on it?

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,612 #7 Posted April 14, 2008 So Joel, do have one of these A-series tractors yet?
combatmp29r 27 #8 Posted April 14, 2008 OK, If I understand your first post right you got it very cheap (possibly even free), so yes you should be able to get more out of it that you payed for it. Without pictures, I can't give you an idea of what kind of price to ask though. Where are you located at? Yes, i know I should know, but with all the new members joining in now adays I'm way behind the curve on names and locations. If you don't want to post pictures here, or fgure out how to post here email them to me at combatmp29r@yahoo.com. I'll post them or just look at them and give you a ball park value if you would like. Just keep in mind it is a vertical shaft Lawn tractor, not a garden tractor like a C-seriese or a 300/400/500- series. JD Terry, no I do not have any of the A's yet. Mainly because every one I've ever found is a rust bucket that is priced like its a D series. Our mighty founder (WHCHRIS) was telling me on chat last night about an A-100 he saw at a swap meet over the weekend they wanted $600 for. $600????? :wtf: It better be a 69 V8 with the vertical kohler still in the crate for that price. Oh and at 13 verts now I need to clean out a few (in other words tear the duplicates down and put them out of sight in totes ). Now of course for the right price I will still add one or two to the herd.
Joeywads 0 #9 Posted September 28, 2012 I just picked one up! Needs a lot of TLC but the price was right and wanted a winter project! The A80 seems to be the gohst tractor bc i can find very little info on it. This thread helps me for sure! Thanks
