wheel horse b-80

Recommended Posts

hm12460

Gentlemen, i bought a wheel horse tonight! I haven't had one in 5-6 years now and i bought a B-80 with a rear discharge deck and a snow plow for $225. Should make a good garage buddy for my John Deere's. I'll try to throw up a couple picture's this weekend after i get it home. Last month i was cleaning out my garage and found a rear hitch for a snow plow that i forgot i had.

In an interesting twist, I bought a 312-8 on the same day from a guy with "GO DEERE" plates on his car. The one I got also had a mower and snow plow/dozer blade.

From what I've seen, the B-80 and 312-8 are both tractors that are among the most appreciated of the various models. Welcome back to the fold!

Also... I think the rear axle bracket is, pound for pound, the second most valuable part on a Wheel Horse. (The first most valuable parts must surely be the chrome plated hub caps with the WH logo.)

T1257, it is a 4 speed. is an 8 speed a direct bolt in? I would imagine it is an early 70's but not sure. is there a web site available to look up serial/model number's. i found some sites that were helpful if you owned a wheel horse from toro, but nothing going back to the 70's. also, do you fellas have any sites for ordering parts from? partstree.com doesn't go back far enough to cover this model.

Hey Harold, 'Horses and Deeres can co-exist in the same stable, or so I've heard :) . Your B-80 with a 4 speed is either a 1974 model # 1-0140 or 1-0145, or a 1975 model # 1-0141. There should be a plate/tag with one of those numbers on it. You can see the plate on the picture T1257 posted. It's right by the deck lift handle. You can get a parts breakdown by entering your model number here: https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

or at Partstree here: http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=toro_consumer&mh=8

What parts do you need that is too old for Partstree to carry? Have fun and good luck. :USA:
