closha63 0 #1 Posted September 16, 2010 Well i rebuild my K301 and had some problems with the ignition system. Now that i have got it to run i am noticing that when it runs and i open up the throttle that fuekl will spit out of the opening and it runs very rough. Also if it doesn't start and i keep cranking that fuel will run out of carb. I rebuild the carb. now i am thinking that it might be that the bowl float level is not correct. Has anyone experianced this problem. And on a different note..... the two wires that go to the regulator for charging... I have the two wires correct but the third wire that should go to the battery for charging, does that go on the switch, the battery terminal, or the starter seloniod? And i saw a thread on how to bore and get more performance out of your carb.s has anyone performed this? is it worth doing to a stock engine for recreational use? Any feed back would be much usefull....
rmaynard 16,330 #2 Posted September 16, 2010 Depending on what model tractor you have, the wire that comes off of the B+ terminal of the regulator should go to the ignition switch. On B and C series, it goes to the "R" terminal of the switch. What opening are you referring to when you say "fuel will spit out of the opening"? A stuck (open) float valve will cause the carburetor problem that you are having. Stuck open can be caused by improper adjustment, a hole in the float, or something obstructing the free movement of the float. Be sure that all bowl gaskets are inserted correctly.
