Help! Replacing Hydraulic on '87 418C

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 1987 418C Garden Tractor, Model 41-18KE01. My rear body, where the seat mounts has been loose and the shifting caused a leak in a hydraulic line. The part number is 109377 (unavailable) - i found a used line, but i can't get to the one end. The line runs from the filter (easy access) to the front of the pump, beneath the "saddle" or "hoodrest." How can i get to this end.

Is is possible to slice or mend the bad end? I'm told the pressure is very high and then cannot be spliced.

Not sure if it matters, but i'm a newbie, more comfortable behind a desk than a toolbox.

ted
