I think it is a 1959 Ride-Away Jr. It has the multi-sector lift adjustment on it. If it is a 59' I hope you took it home :) .

Looks like a 58/59 RJ with a 1961 deck.

If you could get some pics from all sides it would help to be more positive

NICE SAVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK...I'm looking to learn something here. I agree with Jeff and this should have a new home...nice save. :)

John...about the deck being a 1961...was that not the deck that had the tires inside the frame...or was that just the 601 tractor that had that feature? :USA:

The deck in the pic looks exactly like the deck I have for a 401.

58/59 decks are square and no wheels,

the 400/550 decks connect to the rear hitch,

the 401/551 deck has the 4 wheels and the curved covers on the sides.

The 1961 701 had the deck with the rear wheels inclosed

as for it being a 59 that's iffy as some people added the multi

position sector to 58's and probably the model and serial number has been destroyed from the front plow mount

notice the seat spring is on backwards

I've been told the RJ-59 had the solid seat. Is that true? The S/N would be on the front left side of the frame (if you were sitting on it) on the top side close to where the lift sector comes down and meets the angle iron.

Buy the thing and get it home safe before it meets the shear house!

Very good observation Perry!!!

I'm in agreement with Jeff..... it looks like a 59 to me too. But really the only way to confirm is to have the serial tag. The unit does have a number of aspects though that would lead to a 59: seat pan, lift indicator. One other thing to look at is the casted date code in the tranny. Any thing after May or June 1959 is another good indicator that you may have a 59.

Worst case you've located an RJ58 and that is no shabby find at all. :) But again like Jeff said.... GET IT THE HECK OUT-OF-THERE!

And I've seen crazier things, that plow attachment may have just saved the serial tag from the elements, you never know you could get lucky and find what you're looking for :USA:

Well If I had the room I would have grabbed it but I thought it would still be there today. At least I got the 2 cubs,One has the wheel horse fenders and the tool box.I think these were all owned by the same person cause the seat on the wheel horse looked like a cub seat.

Anyone need these?
