digiHorse 0 #1 Posted September 6, 2010 Hello everybody, Name's Greg. New to the forum and to owning this nice old machine. Been doing a bit of research since I got it and am looking forward to taking care of and owning this machine for a long time to come. I have very straightforward yet beginner questions....one anyhow for now. This 7 HP Tecumseh has a gas cap that reads "mix oil with gas" on it. Cap looks old and weathered as the rest of the machine so I couldn't be sure it wasn't just a replacement at sometime. Ingnore this as my gut tells me? Or do I need some education? I'm new at this and just don't want to make a mistake. Far as I thought, gas and oil were seperate altogether with this engine. Well I hope to do some learning in this forum. Sure appreciate the help. Thanks Greg
TT-(Moderator) 1,151 #2 Posted September 6, 2010 :) Nope - no mixing required. "Straight" gasoline in the tank and 30W engine ("motor") oil in the crankcase. You'll want to be absolutely certain that you do not overfill the engine oil too. Tecumsehs aren't very fond of that. :USA:
