just wondering about the fit and finish on my hood. for 1 there is only 1 clip left on my hood, so i'll more than likely fabricate the ones that are missing. is the cast iron grill adjustable? i'm going to tear it down this winter for paint, and the clearances where the hood meets the steering tower and the grill are pretty sloppy. not acceptable. since the 69 was the only one with the clips, (i think) i'm pretty sure it's the original hood. i wouldn't think it came out of the factory with this poor of a fit. also, did the brake release handle come on the 69 with both styles? mine has the same handle as the forward reverse lever. I'd also like to know if any of you guys have parts and pieces for this tractor that you'd like to sell. finally, (for now) i replaced all the screws on the dash with stainless, however, one of the originals is broken off. i tried to remove it with a screw extractor, but the tool broke. i then tried drilling it out to re-tap, but even the hard high speed bits broke. thanks . . . scott

No Guru on the GT14s but that fit is poorer than any I have, although most of the hoods seem to get bent or torgued a bit. The cast front piece is removable, check to see if the PO bolted it on correctly. Maybe replaced the bolts with a smaller one and it shifted?! I do have that one gt 14 that I am considering parting out. Next time your in the area stop in.

None of these tractors it real well, they were built to use not look at, even cars back in the 60's don't fit like they do today.

I have a ruff 69 and 72 GT14's I'm parting if you need something.
