It will be staying at my place for a little while, until Kelly can get down here to pick it up.

Now that I've seen it I might just have to hide it.

 Thank you Mike, I owe you, Looks pretty good over all, Kinda bumming thou I see the ID tag is missing  But we can live with that. And Jim no you can't hide it I'll find it some how. This place is great The people are top notch :P , When I first was told about this tractor by Duane, I said yup nice deal for someone in CT, no way was I driving from MI. to get it. Then I did a little asking and what do you, know it's coming home to me. This will complete my set of short frame big block tractors 1075, 1055 and this 1045 :D . Mike are the front tires in good shape? no major cracks? and they say WH on them? Now I can't wait till the show, I get to touch it, then pass it off to Jim to be the gaurdian for a while, Jim lives about 80 or so miles south of me.

Hey Sparky, I think my 1045 is the best tractor in my herd of Horses with Kohler K-241 10 motor with horse power on a short frame tractor . .:D:D:thumbs::thumbs: Ben...

You know Kelly if I take my 1045 to the show....they will be rideing on the same trailer.

Maybe I should hire my 1045 out for stud service?

Serious though...looks like a pretty straight tractor....I'm sure with your talents & engine it will be a fine throughbred.

Well Kelly,

I will say you do have good luck with tires on Wheel Horses  ...... them front tires on the 1045 are hard to find  ...... you would have better luck finding me at a Cub Cadet convention then another set of those front tires!

Kelly, here what I can see.

The front tires do have Wheel Horse on em  . The sidewalls have some cracking but I've seen worse. The major cracking is between the tread nubs.

The brackets from the tranny plate to the frame are welded on :D . It looks like the plate was cracked and welded and then the brackets were put on for more strength. Is the ID tag under the dash or on the side of the dash? If its supposed to be below the dash its gone. If its on the side then its still there I think. The whole thing has a brush paint job so the paint is on pretty thick but there is some kind of decal/tag on the side of the dash tower. I'll let you try to expose it!

The shifter boot is non-existent and the tranny might have water in it. Kinda hard to shift and I think when it was tilted back to get it into my van it let some water out, not exactly sure tho. If ya want I'll drain out whatevers in it and put in some 80/90W for you to prevent any more rust build up in the tranny if there is water.

ID tag on a 1045 is just a small white decal placed on the left hand side of the hood support tower above the lift arm. Same as the 604, 654, 704. It's also the same decal used on most serialized impliments built up to 1965 when they finally got smart enough to use a sturdy metal data tag.

Oh, and congrats on the find. We picked one up several years back and it is still one of my fathers favorites. I'm hoping it finds it's way to the restoration category sometime soon. He seems to hate mower decks, but I want to convince him to restore it with the RM-425 under it which is as odd as the tractor itself.

Thanks for the info, now I hope I can save the ID tag. I have a RM-425 that came with my 1075, But I also don't much care for mower decks I'll probably put a sickle bar on it, I know where a couple are I just need the money to get one of them and figure out the years of them, try to get close to mid 60's. And Thanks Mike for dealing with my questions, It's ruff I can't go out and look at it myself, It's only 900 miles from me

And Yes Mike if you would drain the trans and put oil of some kind in it even old motor oil, I will tear it apart and go through it, but oil not water would help keep rust at bay.
