Painting plastic dash plate

I bought a spare dash plate with raised lettering for my C175 and wanna restore it. I'll probably just buff the black out to make it look good. But the symbols and lettering are raised with silver paint. Is there a paint I should use that is for exterior plastic? My concern is the fading of the paint. I was figuring model paints but don't know how they would last in the sun. But cars have plastic parts that are painted silver and are outside 24/7. What kind of paint is that?

I use Krylon BBQ paint instead of the vinyl dye.
