meadowfield 2,545 #1 Posted August 31, 2010 After acquiring the Norlett - I now have a C-101 with original Kohler 10hp engine. It's fairly tidy for it's age, and entirely original. It has spent a bit of time outdoors, theres some heavy rust between adjacent surfaces and the gearbox is full of emulsified white oil... It starts and runs ok and with a bit of TLC has plenty of life left in it. The model no. is 91-10K8-92 and serial no 183695. The model no. has thrown me though as it shows as a 79 model, but the last digits should be 02, not 92. Does anyone have any ideas as to the model change? thanks mark
C-Series14 15 #2 Posted August 31, 2010 The VIN is not as you have it, they always ended in 801, 802, 803, etc. for the 8-speeds. Yours is a 1979 model, VIN will be 91-10K802

tgranthamfd 28 #6 Posted August 31, 2010 I was thinking it might be something like that. Sometimes it helps to add where you are located into your signature. I have no idea how to find information of the 's that were manufactured overseas.
tgranthamfd 28 #7 Posted August 31, 2010 the C-??1 series was only made in 78 and 79 on the ones that was made over here.

meadowfield 2,545 #12 Posted August 31, 2010 I'm in the UK, bonnet decals say C-101 8 speed. I'm assuming it is identical, just a new sub code for Europe manufacture?
landsurveyor 2 #13 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi Mark, Welcome to Redsquare, I am in the UK also - in Dorset. Where are you located? I started off with one Wheelhorse, I now have four......... The Belgian built tractors seem to have a strange system for model numbers, I am not sure how it works. Simon :)
Don1977 604 #15 Posted August 31, 2010 Sounds like you have water mixed in with your transmission oil. There are a few post on how to get it cleaned out. :)

Yea, we need to get our crack research team on this and figure the numbering system out. We have a few experts on here that hopefully will see this or have an explanation. :USA:

Would be great to see some pics of yours. Regards Simon. Hi, I did see that, but too new for my liking. I can't find anything at all on Norlett, other than rotavator spares. Someone somewhere must be able to help fill some gaps in the Norlett history.... mark
