wheelly 0 #1 Posted August 31, 2010 I got a 67 L157 lawn ranger last weekend and restoring it. came with a plow. Iknow the plow brackets bolt to the front of the frame. the problem not sure what i'm missing to raise the plow up and down. A few pics would be a lot of help. The plow is the same as pictured in the plow section. :)
littleredrider 409 #2 Posted August 31, 2010 I just got a plow for one of my rangers. The brackets that bolt to the side of the frame only go on with one set of holes. Some of the holes are used for the mower deck, not sure what the others are for, so the bracket will on bolt on with the right mounting holes. (Only 2 sets to choose from, not hard to find the right one ) I'll try to get some pics of it this afternoon.
pfrederi 18,375 #3 Posted August 31, 2010 Hope this helps you. My L107 can really move some snow, and she will go to work immediately unlike her Kohler brethren that have to warm themselves up.... Click for full size

There has to be a pivot or jack shaft that i don't have. :)

Lane Ranger 11,126 #9 Posted September 1, 2010 Some more photos and measurements for the Lawn Ranger snowplow lift pieces. Overall length of long piece is about Correction: 21 1/2 inches. length on the inside of the curve (until the curve starts) is: 18 1/2 inches. Holes on ends of the long piece are 2/8 inches and about 5/8 inches in from the ends and centered. All the steel plate is 1/4 inch thick and 1 1/4 inches wide. All the holes are 3/8 inches in size. Short piece with two studs and one hole on the short stud side is 6 1/4 long. Short stud is 1/2 long and is about 3/8 in round size. Note the short piece hole is NOT centered but more to one side of the piece. This is shown in photo one and three. Long stud is about 1 inch long and has a cotterkey /push pin hole in it to hold in place. Hole for cotterkey is more towards the outside. Top View of short and long pieces attached: I hope this helps you and others wanting to use the Lawn Ranger plow.
Lane Ranger 11,126 #10 Posted September 1, 2010 The link below is to some wheel horse snow attachments on wheelhorse.org. The last one listed is a four page manual for the Lawn Ranger snow blade that is listed as 6-3111 which was originally a BDR-385 snow/dozer blade. http://www.wheelhorse.org/manuals/Snow%20Attachments.pdf :)
pfrederi 18,375 #11 Posted September 1, 2010 THANKS..help a bunch..I'm missing to 2 lever pieces from lift arm to plow. guess i got to find some parts. Just another WH mission. again The Lawn Ranger Plow lift doesn't work like the big tractor plow lifts. The short link (with the welded on pins) locks to the tractor lift mechanism. When you pull back on the lift handle the short link is forced forward and transfers that movement to the longer bent link. As that is attached to the plow frame below its pivot points (the plates on the tractor frame) it works to raise the blade. This lifting movement is similar to the the Lift tube and flag used on snowblowers.
