C-Series14 15 #1 Posted August 27, 2010 Just replied to a post over on the WH Classified board I co-moderate and a fellow is reproducing D-250 AND C-Series fenders in fiberglass. I assume they are of the original plastic ones. I sent him a link so maybe he will come for a visit... I know the D-250's are already being done, maybe this is the same fellow, not sure. Sorry if this is old news....first I saw of the C-Series being done! :)
C-Series14 15 #2 Posted August 27, 2010 The fender is on EBay. It looks like a 1984 C-195 fender, but has the gas tank hole for the other C-Series also. It does not have the reinforcement in the pan area. Looks nice though. Would like to know more about these and what mold he used...
refracman 167 #3 Posted August 27, 2010 Id does look nice, but with it not haveing the reinforceing in it I would have to think it wouldnt be strong enough if bumped. Also without it if used on a 195 you'll have gas tank clearence issues. Its noce though that someone is repoping them though.
C-Series14 15 #4 Posted August 27, 2010 Yea, on the 1978-1979 plastic fender on the C-161 Twin, there is a steel plate that went under the fender for reinforcement, it was not as thick as the 1980-1984 fenders. Also, the depth of the area above the shift linkage cover looks to be the size of the smaller C's fender. That must be so you can use it on them. The C-195 is longer in that area becasue it sits up higher... You also have the extra gas tankhole on the back if used on the smaller C's.
