Wheel Horse Forklift

Recommended Posts

clintonnut

I was recently in Canada for 2 weeks (sorry for any deals which were postponed) and I was talking to one of the scoutmasters for the canoe trip we took and he said he worked a green house in Lancaster, PA that had to 60s hydro wheel horses with a forklift kit. It had a seat on the hood and it steered the wrong way since you were backwards LOL

Anybody ever seen one?

Charlie

Hi Charlie, a canoe trip sounds like fun!

I've seen a few Wheel Horse fork lifts on Craigslist thru the yrs. but they looked as though they were cobbled together by a shoe maker.

I know for sure Case did it with their 444's thru the factory as seen in Lawn and Garden magazine.

Charlie it sounds as though he was describing a possible Air Horse. If not then I haven't seen such a creature either. :) :USA:

He said it was a normal tractor but had a kit from a company he couldn't remember and it was very fast to take on and off. It had a tank at the bottom of the 8ft lift and had a 1000lb capacity.

I seen one on craigslist awhile ago, it had a hand crank system, looked like off a bicycle gear & chain. didn't look too safe. :)

There may be pics of it on the site here somewhere, TT may know of it.

Charlie here are two pictures I've seen on the internet. The Case is in LAGC and I know I've saw a WH forklift on the net somewhere.

Looks like three John Deere weights on the front of the Sears...$$$

a neighbor of my friend has one. he used to be a wheel horse mechanic back in the 60's i think. not sure if it was a factory option or if he built it himself. i haven't been over there in a while but it was pretty cool if i remember right.
