rrlascott 0 #1 Posted August 21, 2010 GT 14. The ball joints on the steering rod need replacing. One end is crimped on, the other screwed on. I can't find any replacements that fit. Any suggestions?
B-8074 20 #2 Posted August 21, 2010 I make my own, you can go to your local hardware store and get heim joints or threaded ball joints. I use the heim joints and steel tubeing. I weld nuts to the end of the tubes and put jam nuts on the heim joints. Now I have the ability to do front adjustments to keep the tractor going straight. Here is a pic before the nuts are welded to the tube.
KC9KAS 4,744 #3 Posted August 21, 2010 GRAINGERS, McMASTER-CARR, and some farm & family type stores have threaded ball joint type fittings, Some have just the ball, others have the ball with a welded in stud.....then you make your own from there.
