round hood 3 point hitch prototype

Recommended Posts

JUSS10

well i have been playing around with the idea of building a 3 point hitch setup for a round hood that utilizes the current lift hitch. well last night and this afternoon i started doing some cutting and welding on some scraps around the garage. i am in the process of building a sprayer so i built a frame to hold the tank.

keep in mind this is a rough prototype but it works flawlessly. i am in the process of designing a finished piece that will attach right to the trans like the slot hitch does. pull the pin, pull the slot hitch, then put the lower links in and slide the hitch pin back in. that will eliminate the slop from the slot hitch.

here are a few pictures

honestly don't know yet how much it would cost. i would think less than $100 finished. i need to price out materials then decide if i cut it all myself or get it laser cut. school starts here in a week which means my play time is over :)

so you want a sprayer and the 3 point setup? i was just talking about about the 3 point setup being under $100. the sprayer actually isn't to bad either though. i can get the barrels for $5 the nozzles and all the fittings would be around $30, then i got a really nice pump for cheap but I've seen the pumps for around $45.

well i'd probly make a low presure waterer. but it hard to tell what the other ideas i or other will come up with for the three point hitch.

It looks good but if I may ask a question? Are you planing on using that small cable to lift and lock it in the up position? You may find that is a weak point.

got a little further on the sprayer today. got the plumbing in and built a mount for the pump. also did some looking at TSC and found a linkage that i think would work for a top link. i found a collar wit ha 3/8 ID that i can put into the eye at each end and weld it in place. should work pretty well. i think i will build legs under the sprayer frame so the hitch can be dropped and i can just back up to the sprayer and lock it in.
