Jesse James 0 #1 Posted August 16, 2010 Looking at a 44 in blower. Some people have told me its too big to go on a 14 or 16 HP tractor that is a 8 speed, and I wouldn't be able to lift it up. I was looking at the interchange manual and Toro says it will go on the 312-8! Has anybody used this snow blower on a tractor other than a 520? What tractor and was it hard to lift? Thanks Jesse
dgoyette 12 #2 Posted August 16, 2010 I have not been able to run mine yet but the fellow I got my 2 stage blower from ran it just fine on a C-175 for years. They are VERY heavy but it also should be taken into consideration that unlike the single stage that mounts to the front Tach-a-matic; the 2 stage mounts to the mid tach-a-matic distributing the weight much better. I have not mounted mine yet so anyone please correct me if I am incorrect on this.
Forest Road 594 #3 Posted August 16, 2010 I bought a single stage from a guy who had upgraded to a 2-stage unit. He had it on a 416Hydro. He said the 2-stage threw the snow well but the motor was really maxed out. So he had to keep it to a crawl. As for picking it up that all depends on how strong you are. And be sure that all the mounting hardware is there, I think there are some lift assist springs too. Good luck
