stoneman 10 #9 Posted August 13, 2010 I know of about 6 or those for sale. They belonged to the now deceased companion of an elderly lady that I did some work for a few weeks ago. They seem to be in great condition. He showed them around she says, after he retired. If anyone has any interest in these, pm me. If your serious I'll get the particulars and some photos. They are going to be appraised by a local enthusiast who has no interest in buying them.
squonk 43,843 #10 Posted August 13, 2010 Went to get a pic today and it was gone. They did have a hit-n-miss laundry going but my camera died. I seemed to have lost about 5 other pics. I may try again tomorrow. how about a hit n miss Cub Cadet stretch limo!!
gattonde 2 #11 Posted August 14, 2010 I'd be interested at how much they are appraised at. Alway's wanted one of those. Dan
Greg Parnell 6 #12 Posted August 14, 2010 Steve, You can see similar hit-n-miss ice cream machines on youtube. The one I've seen is a John Deere type with two freezers and is very clean and looks like new. He usually makes vanilla in one freezer and chocolate in the other. I'd probably forget to take a photo for you anyway.... :)
perry 82 #13 Posted August 14, 2010 this one was at the charlotte,MI show last year. and the amish making ice cream in the back ground.

FarmerJim 5 #15 Posted August 14, 2010 The "John Deere" pictured above, actually has an International Harvester engine in it. I believe it to be an LA. We have alot of these running around Indiana.Seems a shame to waste a carcass on this, but the side drive makes it first choice. We all know the chassis will last as long as the engine has :USA:
rickv1957 75 #16 Posted August 14, 2010 Them old hit and miss engines are really neat!,Rick

Electro12WH 50 #19 Posted August 15, 2010 Just a side note; that International LA engine is not a hit and miss. It is throttle governed.
piecrazy4 0 #20 Posted August 15, 2010 Is that an LA or an LB ?
Lane Ranger 11,397 #21 Posted August 16, 2010 :) This wheel horse built by Phil Humphrey of Greencastle, Indiana with a hit and miss International Harvestor LA engine (about 2 1/2 to 3 HP) is a very nice Wheel Horse with hit and miss power. This photo was taken by John Bell at the Rockville , Indiana Labor Day Show in 2009. I really like this tractor and think the IH LA is a great way to go if you want to do one of these. bustedglass 1 #22 Posted August 16, 2010 Them old hit 'n miss engines are strange, to say the least. And to see one in a Wheel Horse sure is odd .
