My First Wheel Horse

Recommended Posts

darobsr

I just got my first Wheel Horse on Saturday.....free on the side of the road. Its a 1970 Commando V7. It took me about two hours to get it running, but I have two issues with it....first there is a leak at the carburetor and gas streams out if its not running....and second the battery does not charge,,,I put a new one in it and now I have to jump start it to run. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is that the float is set to high, or the carb needs a good cleaning

and the needle is not seating to shut off the fuel.

Thank you all for the welcome!....I will post some pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do it .

First off, . Second, get yourself a free Photo bucket account, make you some folders, and upload pictures from your computer or camera card. Then hold your mouse over the photo you want to post, there will be a drop down menu, go down to the one that says IMG code, right click in it and hit copy, then go to where you want to post your picture and make a post or add a reply, type in what you want to say, then while you have the cursor blinking in the box you are typing in, right click and hit paste. there you go. If you want more than 1 picture then just hit enter and do it again with a different photo. Note, is best to have red square on 1 tab and photo bucket on another tab or 2 different windows, which ever you prefer. The IMG code looks like a jumbled up mess, but when you get done just hit preview post, if it is the way you want it then hit add reply. Pretty simple once you do it a couple of times. Good luck.

Here are a few pictures of my Commando 7....a big thank you to tgranthamfd, I never would have figured that out. I have taken the carb off and later today I will be hitting the small engine shops around here in the hopes of finding a repair kit for it. Thanks again to all of you who have replied-
