donnaha 0 #1 Posted August 3, 2010 I recently purchased this machine and have loved it so far. My son was mowing the other day and I suspect got into some heavy mowing and the PTO clutch friction material disintegrated. End of mowing! I dis-assembled the clutch and it appears as though the friction material was bonded to the driven back plate. My question is: does anyone have a source of relining the plate with new friction material or where I may be able to purchase a new one? This is a Wheel Horse 312-8, ID# (under seat) is 2112K805 31761. I appreciate any help. God Bless :D

donnaha 0 #4 Posted August 3, 2010 Have you tried your local Toro dealer? I just did and the third one I called had it in stock and I am on my way to pick it up! I had thought that the unit was too old for dealer support. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I know better now God Bless :D

C-Series14 15 #7 Posted August 3, 2010 Is your friction disk riveted on with 4 rivets? I think the older ones are.
Duff 206 #8 Posted August 4, 2010 :D ! Glad you've joined us! 312-8's are good, solid machines! What deck do you have under yours? While you're at it, check the idler pulleys on the deck and on the mule drive to make sure they are spinning freely - I had one lock up and almost took out my clutch before I realized what had happened. Just a thought..... Duff
