Sparky-(Admin) 23,168 #1 Posted August 3, 2010 Can anyone tell me if a hood from a Workhorse 700 is the same as one off a 656? I have found a Workhorse 700 that I may buy for parts to use on my 656 but not if the hood is different. The 700 should be model# 1-8741 . Thanks. Mike...... TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted August 3, 2010 My research shows that the hoods are the same length. (both tractor use the same frame) They do have different part numbers, so something was changed though. (P.S.> 1-3741 is the Workhorse model number )
Sparky-(Admin) 23,168 #3 Posted August 3, 2010 Thanks Terry. I do know that the 700 has a cutout where a headlight bucket would go but my 656 does not. Maybe thats the diff? Mike.........

sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted August 3, 2010 Thanks Terry. I do know that the 700 has a cutout where a headlight bucket would go but my 656 does not. Maybe thats the diff? Mike......... The early 500 Specials had the cutout for the headlight bucket (and covered with a plastic trim piece) and the later ones had no cutout. As far as I know the same part # was used for both (# 7231 which is the same one used on the Workhorse 700 and Commando 8). Does that make it more confusing??
