TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted August 1, 2010 You're SOL on the interchangeability of all of the parts you've mentioned. (except for the mower deck, but there's only one "correct" deck for the 701) The 701 was the very first front-engined round hood produced by Wheel Horse and has some unique-to-that-model parts. TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #5 Posted August 1, 2010 The deck model # is RMR-3661: It will have a 36" width of cut and the gauge wheels will be inside of the rear of the side plates.
stevasaurus 23,281 #6 Posted August 1, 2010 I was talking to a couple of vendors at this years Penn. show. The one guy had a 601 for sale...it was complete and he started it up for me. Sounded great and ran smooth...think he wanted around $350. Started talking about the deck for it, which he did not have, but the vendor next to him had a bunch of decks. So we walked over to take a look. Dang if he didn't have one setting there. Like TT said...it is the only deck with the wheels on the inside. The two guys started to dicker on the price and the guy bought it finally for $25. Not bad. I helped him carry it over to his 601..it was a match made in heaven. I don't know if he ever sold it at the show, but it did look nice. I just didn't have the room to bring it home. Maybe next year. I don't know where you are located, but I think these guys are from around Penn or out east. They were across the street from Walfish, Vince and CharlieD250. Maybe they got the guys names? :D
