tgranthamfd 29 #6 Posted July 29, 2010  Is your GT set up with any kind of clevis hitch or anything on the rear? Yes a picture is worth a 1000 words. That will help out a bunch.
craiglaroche 0 #7 Posted July 29, 2010 the tractor has the rear mounts that i think bolt right on the axle
craiglaroche 0 #8 Posted July 29, 2010 it also has the "draw bar" asuming its just for pulling carts
tgranthamfd 29 #9 Posted July 30, 2010 You will have to have the bracket for the attachments, on the rear, that mount to the bottom of the tranny, and most likely a clevis hitch set up to attach the chain to the rock shaft to the tiller. I think it shows all that in the link that TT posted. You can also look in the implements picture gallery, and take a look at mine, should be about the same for yours. I'll go find the link and post it on here for you, in a minute.

tgranthamfd 29 #11 Posted July 30, 2010 I've got more photos than this http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18368 on here somewhere. There are a couple more pictures on this link that show some of the rear lift stuff, as well. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=16620 If you have to go with the clevis hitch set up, I have the parts and installation manuals for the #85518 Clevis Hitch, I could probably e-mail them to you if the pdf. files are not to big. I think I sent them to someone else on here before.

HankB 16 #14 Posted August 2, 2010 This link might be a little more helpful: Tiller IPL @ PartsTree I think you need to take a real good look at what's posted on the second diagram from the IPL. In particular, your rear axle hitch puts the mount of the tiller behind the rear axle while the "official" one puts it below the rear axle. I don't know how much difference that makes, but if you have a manual lift lever, it might add extra effort. It also means that the belt length would be wrong, though you could probably find a longer belt to fit. I don't see a guide tube (for the cable) in the picture so I suppose that's already part of the tractor (under the seat, above the axle) or it is a straight shot from the lift lever mechanism to the rock shaft. On my 314-H I need to remove the draw bar hitch before mounting the tiller. It's not used for the tiller and just in the way. HTH, hank
tgranthamfd 29 #15 Posted August 3, 2010 Here is the other type of mounting brackets they were talking about. This is looking under the tractor from front to rear. Note how it mounts under the trans-axle. And here is the clevis assembly chain hooked to the rock shaft lifted by the cable, that I use to lift mine and it lifts real easy. Most tillers have had the lift plate upgrade done to them, on the older tillers. If you need pictures of the mid idler assembly, I have shots of those too. craiglaroche 0 #16 Posted August 3, 2010 Thanks for the photos! i gues i just need the cable and some chain. any body have a cable?
tgranthamfd 29 #17 Posted August 3, 2010 Do you already have the lever assembly, part #12 in TT's link above? you will also have to have the washers and the plastic bushings. That part is what the chain and lift cable hook to.
craiglaroche 0 #18 Posted August 3, 2010 no lever just everything that attaches to the tiller but the tractor has the tube for the cable.
wheel horse 1045 2 #19 Posted August 3, 2010 i have knone guys that have made cables and just used them insted of buying the chain and other stuff and it worked great
tgranthamfd 29 #20 Posted August 4, 2010 i have known guys that have made cables and just used them instead of buying the chain and other stuff and it worked great agreed. Good point. Sometimes you have to work with what you have got. I got all of my stuff in a kit and it was kind of pricey. As stated you can make it work with other supplies. Good luck, keep us posted.
