2tractornuts 0 #1 Posted July 26, 2010 :D Ok i seen some where in the forum that a 10 hp and a 12 hp use yhe same block if the casting num behind the pto was K301 which mine is its a 1980 model C-105 im a tinkerer and was curious i seen in the forum i think some where that you could bore out a 10 hp to 12 and a 12 to 14 hp is this true im going to use this tractor for every thing i can from plowing to mowing and my mind tells me the more hp the better first wheel horse so i guess my question is this can the k241 10hp motor with the casting number be bored to 14 hp provided i use 14 hp crank rod piston and cam i really want to know if this could reliably be done :thumbs: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
rmaynard 16,327 #2 Posted July 26, 2010 The K301 block was used on many of the K241's. So, you can bore a K241 to the maximum allowed for a K301. However, this is where I am unsure, and I know that someone will have the correct answer. I'm not sure that you can use a K301 piston, crank, and rod to achieve the stroke you would need to increase the horsepower to 12. That model engine, the K241AS has a small oil pan.
