Pollack Pete 2,273 #1 Posted July 26, 2010 Picked up a B-80 over the week-end.It had a VERY noisy PTO clutch.I took it apart and the slotted screw,2 washers, and the small roller bearing, and spring were just floating around inside the clutch housing. Also, the 2 allen set screws were loose allowing the whole clutch to slide back and forth.I think the inside of the pulley " machining "the end plate of the engine was making most of the noise.I know how it goes back together, but what about the screw? Is it supposed to be adjusted somehow? Should it be coated with loc-tite before it goes into the crankshaft? Any and all help and suggestions are appreciated. Don1977 604 #4 Posted July 27, 2010 I still have that in mine, all it does is push the pulley away from the clutch disk, it may put a little drag on the PTO break. They tend to eat up the springs. I found some springs at ACE hardware that I cut down to fit.
