k241 compression test?

Recommended Posts

Jim_Rockford

I was a little curious as to the health of my kohler ( You know you gotta have the yearly inspection on your kohler after 50 ...) so I tried a compression test, At first I was getting like 15psi..I was like Holy hell, then It clicked about the auto compression release so I reset the gauge to 0 and tried it again and really let it wind out and it jumped up to 100psi so I'm guessing that pretty good?

I'd say 100 is pretty good, it is hard to get a true reading with the ACR.

Sure is , I increased the plug gap from .18 to .35 and cleaned the carb bowl and it runs like a song and the ol 42 inch deck with dull blades has no problems cutting tall field grass, I was really worried when I got it that it was worn out and low on power cause it ran poorly and needed to have about half choke and would bog down everytime you tried to cut the smallest amount of grass. Thanks.
