rydogg 186 #1 Posted July 10, 2010 I am looking to add another horse to my collection so I talked to a friend that is reducing the size of his collection and he offered me a complete and running 753 with the original hydraulic lift, snow / dirt blade and deck, this tractor is in great original condition. The other one he offered is a 701 that has a rebuilt 7hp kohler and has been completely restored but needs to be put together and is missing the belt guard and no deck included. He is asking $600 for choice of tractors I normally don't pay that much but the round hoods are getting harder to find around here. Which one do you guys think I should get? I only have pictures of the 701.
ol550 830 #2 Posted July 10, 2010 If I were asked to part with either my 753 or 701 you would have a fight on your hands if you took the 701. Go for the 701. Good luck, Mike
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,534 #3 Posted July 10, 2010 The one with hydro and attachements is the one I would go with as the hydo is a harder to find option plus it has attachments.

GlenPettit 1,717 #7 Posted July 10, 2010 Attachments are very hard to come by, if you're going to use it to work, mow & push snow, then the 753 Hydro with Electric start; if it's just to look at and be very simple/easy to maintain & look cute with little effort, then it's the 701. Just stand back and look at both of them together for a few minutes, you'll get a gut feeling as to which one. For a nice looking '63, $600 is very fair. JUSS10 250 #8 Posted July 10, 2010 go with the hydro, if you do any work with attachments that will be SO nice. i'm saying this cause i use my round hoods with a bottom plow, a disc, snow plow, all that and hydro would be so nice. plus the 753 has a wider front end and tighter turning radius or so I've noticed that with my 63, 64 models. JimD 3,347 #9 Posted July 10, 2010 Definitely the 753 in my book, it's more bang for the buck by far.
rydogg 186 #10 Posted July 13, 2010 It looks like I will be getting the 753 first but i'll have to wait a bit since I just picked up a 753 that I won on ebay. The owner is a friend of mine, so far he has been selling his collection to me exclusively and he says that both of the tractors will stay there until I am sure I don't want them which is good since I am currently unemployed but looking.
