Stigian 1,234 #1 Posted March 30, 2008 Friday was a very wet 'n' horrible day weather wise here, not feeling in the mood for a workshack tidy up session (which is needed but its one of those jobs thats easy to put off doing) thoughts turned to making all 6 of the 312-8's wheels the same colour A big thank you to Mr G for all your help First off a bit of wheel masking. Red of white masking tape pin stripe??? Now here's something you don't see every day, a tire wrapped in pallet wrap We was going to do the normal "old car mag and tape" routine, but testing on the pallet wrap showed it didn't suffer from "big holes appearing/paint melting it" syndrome. Silver Hammerite was used mostly because ive had a very big tin of it sitting around for years It says on the tin, do not thin down.. HHmmm 4 parts paint to 1 of thinners works quite well through the spray gun 2 wheels down, only 4 more to go Ta-daa.. A days work but worth it

Stigian 1,234 #6 Posted March 30, 2008 Cheers Guys The only problem with the wheels is, they put the rest of the paint to shame Oh well it give me something to do in the summer Paint colour on rims is a strange thing For some reason the wheels look wider and the tires more low profile in silver than white. Or maybe its just me Dont worry Joel, the rims will soon get dirty, my garden is like a swamp at the moment with all the rain
Rollerman 290 #7 Posted March 30, 2008 Ian nice job on the wheel repainting! Clean repainted wheels really make a tractor look much nicer again. Pallet wrap's a good idea too....another one is cheap aluminim foil for wrapping food.
