tommybro 1 #1 Posted July 5, 2010 Hi, I am rebuilding a carb on a 6 HP tetumsch. It was sitting for a while and leaked out of the bowl so I thought I would give it a good once over. I took it off and pulled it apart and soaked it in a carb bucket for about aqn hour. I put it back togather, the bowl does not leak anymore but it's leaking a solid stream out of the side, it looks like the hole is supposed to be there for an overflow or something. Do you think I don't have the float set right or something? Here is a pic of thre carb with the screwdriver pointing to where it's leaking from. Thanks for your help
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted July 5, 2010 Did you use compressed air to blow out any of the passages? There is a Viton seat (looks like a very tiny o-ring) for the float needle that frequently gets blown out and once it's missing, gas will pass straight through the carb - no matter what the float setting is. tommybro 1 #3 Posted July 5, 2010 I did blow it out with my compressor, I do have a small seal that came with the kit that I was not sure where it went, I have not seen one in that place before. Will it be obvious if I have it in there correctly? Thanks for the reply Terry
buckeye 5 #4 Posted July 5, 2010 chances are you blew out the seal for the float needle. If it's a white seal that you have left over from your kit. you can use the flat side of a drill bit to shove it up into the float needle shaft to properly seat it. (dont force it) put a drop of oil on it to make installation easier.

tommybro 1 #6 Posted July 11, 2010 Thanks for the tip, that was it, put the seal in pulled it a few times and it fired right up and runs like a champ. You should have seen his face as he was driving around the yard, I will have to post more pics on my other 607 thread. Thanks again esp to TT
