danno676 34 #1 Posted June 28, 2010 I found a snowblower, no model number but the serial number is A-62967. Any idea about what year this was made or what it fits? The owner states that it is off a late 70's and will fit B, C, 300, 400, or 500 series. Any ideas?????
Sparky-(Admin) 19,592 #2 Posted June 29, 2010 I cant help you with that serial number but heres the model# for a 1977 blower that would fit the"B", "C", 300,400,500 series tractors. Its 71-42ST01 . Enter it here, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm and look at the parts drawings to see if if it looks like the one your looking at. Mike..... TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #5 Posted June 29, 2010  A serial number like that usually means pre-1965. Have you actually seen the thrower?

danno676 34 #7 Posted June 29, 2010 A serial number like that usually means pre-1965. Have you actually seen the thrower? Just pictures of it, it's a few states away. I'm going to send the guy an email and see if he can find the model number. To me the attachment doesn't look right
WH854 44 #8 Posted June 29, 2010 This is a picture of a 42 inch biower on a C-165 Wheel Horse Without Tractor Hope this will help you out!!! Model# 96-42ST01 Chas.
danno676 34 #9 Posted July 1, 2010 In the third picture I posted, does it look like a bar/rod is missing at the very rear of the attachment? That's what doesn't look right to me. Still haven't heard from the owner about the model number.
frankiefiredog 1 #10 Posted July 1, 2010 Yes. It looks as though someone may have removed the Attach Matic rod. At least I have that intact on mine. It's also intact on the other pictures posted by Chas. Seems like it should be there.
CasualObserver 3,406 #11 Posted July 1, 2010 The decal on that blower you pictured is from the early to mid sixties, and there were no attach-a-matic rods on older blowers.... they were bolt ons. The front attachment hitch wasn't added until 1973. The serial number tags changed from those decals to aluminum tags somewhere around 1965. (just like TT mentioned earlier... ) My guess would be a 1964 model ST-374, originally made to fit the 953/1054. Oh... and Toro doesn't maintain serial number ranges listed on hardly any Wheel Horse stuff from before they purchased them in 1986. You'll never be able to try to ID it that way.
