acsousa82 5 #14 Posted June 23, 2010 Theres just something about working with these old round noses. I mowed 2 acres with my 753 for a year and change. 3 hrs each time and no clumps of grass or clippings in the flower beds. Plenty of looks from cars driving by. I just felt bad seeing grass on the tranny and belt guards though.

clintonnut 126 #17 Posted June 23, 2010 Nice job. A horse NEVER CROAKS! I use my 401 every week to mow just under a half acre of lawn at my house. Cuts like a dream! As long as it is maintained it will work fine. Just keep adding grease to the gear boxes on the deck and it will be fine. Just a little mind blower: I use my 401 to cut grass which takes 2 hours. I have been using it all mowing season for the past 5 years. If it cut grass 35 times a year that brings the grand total to 350 mowing hours with the 401 since 2005. Still works great just keep the maintenance up! Plus it is always good to keep the tractor clean because grass will adhere to the paint and can be a pain to get off and will hold moisture which can lead to premature rust.
