danno676 34 #1 Posted June 17, 2010 Hello fellow WH forumers, just a brief story of how I found this forum. Recently my wife and I just purchased a new house to hold our recent addition to our family (little girl). I said to myself, boy this would be a great time to buy a new lawnmower..new house new mower. So I went to Lows and HD just for a quick introduction to what was out there so I could then do a little online research. Nothing I found was good (Cub, Husc, Toro, etc etc). That being said, I have been a WH owner for the past 16 years as a homeowner starting with a 308-8, 416-8 and finally with a 516-h and before that my dad always owned a WH. The only think wrong with mine is the mower deck is rotten very badly along with a spindle that has cracked. Since finding all of the

danno676 34 #6 Posted June 17, 2010 Thanks everyone!! It's funny, I drive from VA to NY for work..did it yesterday in fact. I found myself watching the roadsides looking for anything Horse related. And I saw one for sale and my heart was broken because I won't be back for another couple of weeks!!!! One thing I bought that I didn't mention was a brinly hardy sweeper and next a dethatcher. I also have a friend who's dad supposedly has a whole bunch of attachments he no longer uses that I'm going to try and snag. I know one is a snow thrower, now we don't get much of any snow where I live in VA but who am I to turn down an attachment??? From building race cars in my spare time to looking forward to restoring a couple of WH tractors this fall/winter..never would have thought that!!

Ken B 3,116 #8 Posted June 17, 2010 Neat story. Remember, there are far worse things to be addicted to! They are much cheaper than building race cars that is for sure.
danno676 34 #11 Posted June 17, 2010 Cheaper for sure, that's the reason for the excitment and YES far much worse things to be addicted to. Looking forward to posting "in progress" pics later this year. Hmmm, I need a bigger garage at the new place to be doing this work in.
