danno676 34 #1 Posted June 14, 2010 New member with LOT'S of questions, but I'll bother you with just one. I know this is a clevis hitch, how do I "work" it? I have a 516h tractor, so of course it has the manual lift. I've seen other's with this hitch and it looks like there is a cable or chain of some sort that operates it with the lift lever. Any help is much appreciated!!!!!

Save Old Iron 1,571 #4 Posted June 15, 2010 Is it necessary to have item #5 - the hitch adjustment plate ?
ba2988 28 #5 Posted June 15, 2010 Hi Chuck, The hitch adjustment plate is needed for some attachments but not needed for others. My basic understanding of the plate is that it holds the attachment to the hitch and will prevent any side to side play when you are pulling the attachment - this would probably be useful if you are pulling a blade where you want it to be rigid. You would not use the plate if you are pulling an attachment like a moldboard plow - because it needs to have some play or side to side motion when it engages the ground. danno676 34 #7 Posted June 15, 2010 Thanks TT for the awesome link!!!! I surely will help. I've been looking forward to getting this thing operational.....and then buying some attachments to use on it. This forom really is a great place. I've been looking around for weeks since I found it and have learned a great deal. I'm going to do a thread in the WH section introducing myself and how I came here and why. It's a good story. Thanks again for the replies and welcomes!!! :D
