johng01 0 #1 Posted June 14, 2010 Hello I am new to the forum and reside in the UK. I have just acquired a Norlett model 8/36. These were made by Wheelhorse at their Belguim factory and sold to Norlett who put their name on them. The only difference is that Norlett specified a B & S ehgine rather than the standard Kholer. The plate on the unit reads Model 2-4300 serial 138071 Amnor NV which I gather was the Belguim factory. I am trying to ascertain the equivalent Wheelhorse model so that I can hopefully obtain a manual. There is no information available from Norlett that I can find. Can anyone help. Whilst I cannot post a photograph I can supply any further details of the unit as required if this would help to identify the model. I believe it was around the mid 1970s. Sparky-(Admin) 23,166 #2 Posted June 14, 2010 Hmmm....is this a horizontal or verticle crankshaft tractor? Is it a rear engine or front engine unit? Kinda sounds like a rear engine tractor to me. johng01 0 #5 Posted June 14, 2010 I have now discovered that it is a Wheelhorse A90 special Model 2-4300 made 1974. Engine is at front, horizontal shaft. Any idea where I might getb an instruction book hopefully a download? On the Toro site the model is listed but the manual appears not o beavailable- probably too old. johng01 0 #6 Posted June 15, 2010 Thank you for your help. Any idea where a manual might be obtained? Does anyone know the length of the main drivebelt. It is a 1/2" belt. In this country that would denote an A type belt and this would be followed by the length in inches or mm, eg A85. it is somewhat critical since both the motor and transaxle are fixed although there might be some leeway via the jockey wheel (clutch wheel). The manufacturers data only gives a part number which is of little help especially if you do not have a Toro dealer nearby. John Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hello Buzz Thank you for your very helpful information. The first site shows the belt to be 89ins. OD When I measured the distance originally I reckoned the belt to be about 89 1/2 ins long. So I was not too far out. Now that I know the correct length I can obtain a belt knowing that it will fit. The second Gates reference shows the belt to be A66 but this is definitely wrong and is far too short.
