kloe0699 12 #1 Posted June 13, 2010 I have been kicking around the idea of building some kind of lift to make life easier working on the tractors. A jack, some steel and a welder along with a little redneck ingenuity should build something impressive.. Right? Has anyone ever built one, or have some good ideas about building one? Thanks, Kevin
rickv1957 73 #2 Posted June 13, 2010 There is several members with a lift, like to have one myself!,Rick
ol550 830 #3 Posted June 13, 2010 Yes there has to be a better way. I have been looking at motorcycle lifts for a while but they seem a little narrow at the base when you go to adding width to the platform. But you could add stablizing legs to one. . Think I just came up with a idea. Mike
grnlark 489 #4 Posted June 13, 2010 How about a tractor rotisserie? Now that would be cool!
Herbl 10 #5 Posted June 14, 2010 I got a few months ago the MoJack EZ from TSC. You drive the front wheels on to it and then either crank or use an impact tool to lift the front up. It lifts the front wheels up over 2 ft, you can very easily clean/repair anything under the mower deck. Changing blades is a 15 minute job for all 3 blades. I wish I had this years ago, of course a full lift would be better but most of the maintenence issues are handled by lifting the front I have found. Just my 2 cents.... sorekiwi 761 #6 Posted June 14, 2010 How about a tractor rotisserie? Now that would be cool! I've posted this picture before, shamelessly stolen from "The Green Forum". One day I'll get around to building one. There have been a few lifts talked about here. I think "Fireman" had a nice one. I'm about to build a 24" high bench big enough for a complete tractor. Then I'll have to decide which project goes up on it!

fireman 1,022 #8 Posted June 14, 2010 Here's mine. It was an older motorcycle lift that I added addition metal so it could handle the width of a tractor. I do have plans and instructions to make a lift table out of wood and pipe. It is designed for a motorcycle but the plans can be modified to make it wider. If anyone is interested I can email it to them. Just post your email address and I will send it.
wallfish 17,916 #9 Posted June 14, 2010 Jeff, interested in looking at those plans. uremailing@yahoo.com Of coarse if I can ever get around to building a mount on the loader for the forks I have, that would make a nice lift.
stoneman 10 #10 Posted June 14, 2010 This is one of my best barter deals ever. About 150.00 on my end. I use it in the shop mostly to move my stones around . . . it really comes in handy. It'll lift nearly a ton 9' up. Turns 360 degrees. 1 full charge lasts about a week depending on use.

Curmudgeon 28 #15 Posted June 15, 2010 Motorcycle lifts seem to be the most common, but they also make ATV lifts. ATV and garden tractors have a lot in common size wise. I'm mulling over a rotisserie just haven't figured out how to get 500 pounds picked up and hooked up. Or have I? an idea was just born.........
C-Series14 15 #16 Posted June 15, 2010 Yes you did....the lift! Hook up the rotisserie, lower and move the lift OR ther rotisserie!
