dgjks6 8 #3 Posted June 13, 2010 The wheel horse decks ride on the ground on the rear wheels - unlike most tractors which are suspended from the belly. All the decks have a lever similar to this: This will raise and lower the back wheels to increase or decrease the mowing height.
jwh 0 #4 Posted June 14, 2010 Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I have a 60" deck and I adjusted the wheel height adjuster as high as it will go. Is there any other way to still go higher?

Duff 206 #6 Posted June 14, 2010 I recall some discussion here a year or two ago about Wheel Horse decks having limited height adjustment - one of the few drawbacks to an otherwise excellent line of implements and accessories. When I'm cutting really deep stuff (my version of "brush hogging") I mow with the deck riding all the way up on the travel latches (or whatever the term is for lifted all the way up and locked). The disadvantage of this is the deck then follows the tractor's movements over the ground, not necessarily the true contour of the ground like when it's riding on its rear wheels. But for hogging or the first cut of an out of control lawn/field, I guess the levelness of the cut really isn't important. I'm also not familiar with all WH decks to know if they can all be run in the "up" position without damaging the drive system. On my 37" SD, it doesn't seem to hurt anything. rickv1957 74 #7 Posted June 14, 2010 Check your deck to see that it is just slightly down on the front with a level, maybe can be adjusted up to gain you a little height,Rick
