fomocoguy 0 #1 Posted June 12, 2010 So, my dad has a late seventies or early eighties Jacobsen GT10 with a ten horse kohler and a bad deck. I was thinking the kohler would be great in my 66 Lawn Ranger if it will fit. What do you guys think? Major mods required or is it a bolt in deal? Thanks! littleredrider 409 #2 Posted June 12, 2010 I haven't tried, but I think a Kohler 10 horse is too big to fit in a ranger. If you modify the hood then anything will fit. Wouldn't think there would be that much difference between an 8 and 10 horse, but it's quite a bit. The 8 horse's fit without a problem so I'm told, I'll find out soon tho.. rydogg 186 #3 Posted June 12, 2010 My friend put a 25hp kohler twin cylinder in a lawn ranger that he uses for pulling, not sure what had to be modded to bolt it in but he said it was easy. He runs it with no hood since that would have needed extensive modifications to fit.
fomocoguy 0 #4 Posted June 12, 2010 Well, if I had to trim the hood a bit it wouldn't be the end of the world. It's kinda beat up anyways. I just want to be sure that I'd be able to find pulleys to fit the crank and get everything lined up correctly so it will still mow.
