chesbaycruiser 83 #1 Posted June 2, 2010 I'm betting there's not a lot of these in the Wheel Horse collections out there. Heck, I doubt that even Ricky has one of these out in the Ozarks!!! Found on the local "Craigs Listing"
horsefeathers 15 #2 Posted June 2, 2010 What the heck is it and what would you do with it? Crazy tractor! Never know what you'll find out there! HORSEFEATHERS!
HankB 16 #3 Posted June 2, 2010 I've seen a different one listed on craigslist. IIRC it was described as an air wheel horse. My recollection is that it was still red.
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted June 2, 2010 They pop up on CL and ebay from time to time, they are airhorse's they used them to move small air planes around with, just had one on local CL a few weeks ago I think asking price was $1400

chesbaycruiser 83 #7 Posted June 2, 2010 You are correct...it is an aircraft tug. It's for sale at a local airport....the link to the local Craig's List is ad is in the post. I assumed it was originally red, then at some point was painted white to match the color of other non-emergency utility vehicles in use on the tarmac. (That's my guess and I'm stickin' to it!) (Looks like Smilie's got his Aviatiors on!)

glgrumpy 35 #13 Posted January 21, 2013 Two questions: How does that steer? and Is that attach heavy enough to keep nose off ground when braking empty let's say? Don't see any safety wheel or pad on front. Attach looks pretty beefy, maybe it weighs a lot?

Jake 0 #16 Posted January 22, 2013 l used to work at my local aiport, we had a newer model made from a deere, They pivet right behind the rear tires and use rams to steer. On the model we had, which looked the same as the one above the whole rear section was a solid cast chunk so it was heavy enough to keep the front from dropping. Honestly they work great. The one made for us was the last one made by the original owner of the company, he sold it to these guys who still make them, http://www.tiffinaire.com/en/Services/AircraftTugs.aspx
