dandan111 31 #1 Posted May 31, 2010 My 654 runs and mows great but when it gets hot, 1/2 hour or so it starts to sputter and dies. After it cools down its the same story, runs great till it gets hot and dies..... It was in long term storage so I put a good carb on it,I have adjusted as recomended and it runs great until it gets hot. Any suggestions?Maybe its time to let somebody else work on it. The motor is a H-60 I love using it, if it would run and not die it is perfect for my lawn.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted May 31, 2010 How long has it been since the condenser was replaced?
Docwheelhorse 2,740 #3 Posted May 31, 2010 I agree with TT.... its time for points and condensor. What you describe is a classic condensor on the way to dirt nap city. Tony
dandan111 31 #4 Posted May 31, 2010 Condenser, no idea on that. Is it easy to replace? Can I clean the points? I cleaned the bottom power valve on the carb a little while ago. If it needs point and a condensor it may need to go to a shop. I will be mowing again in a few days(thats when I have the trouble)
