General Charger 10 questions...

Newdie here again, I'm having a hard time finding answers to my questions using "search".

1. Currently set up with a attach-a-matic side-discharge deck, will ANY attach-a-matic deck fit? Do I need to be talking deck serial numbers/model numbers rather than tractor year or model?

2. Tractor seems to be missing a parking brake mechanism actuator on the center plate between the seat and console tower. Is this missing control the only way to apply a parking brake? When stopped, it seems I can push the tractor backwards, but not forward. Makes it scary to back the tractor up to a trailer and go back there to hook it up, or leave it in place without fear of it rolling.

Does this have something to do with that valve release under the seat, on the hydro unit?

3. Where/when should the hydro fluid be between the marks on the dipstick? Hot/cold/running/not running?

4. The 10-hp Kohler has only big hex-drive screw plugs where I'd expect an oil fill to be. When I pull one, there's only a cavernous view into the bowels of the crankcase. What LEVEL should the oil be?

OR, what is the capacity/viscosity? I could drain it and re-fill it with the proper amount and record the apparent level, but that makes it hard to maintain if the engine uses oil.

5. Is there a place to download on-line manuals?

In the first place, Put some clothes on. There are some rules around this place and I think wearing clothes is one of em.

Second, slow down, take a deep breath and tell us what your working on first. Wheel Horse/Toro used several 10hp engines and several hydro's. If you can get us a model number on this tractor, all of your questions will be answered!

I can't get my manuals to load up right now for the Charger. You should have either a Kohler K241 or a Tecumseh HH100. We'll need to know which one if you can't find a model.

It's the wealth of knowledge just waiting to upload to my brain that's exciting me!
