blown fuse

I remotored my SB421 years ago with a 12hp kohler from Northern. It has a toggle switch and dimmer switch start button, that's how I left it. Lately it keeps blowing fuses. It didn't blow them in the thinned out part of the fuse like you'd expect, it melted out the sodder in the end of the fuse. After changing that fuse about 3 times in as many hrs, the lightbulb came on. I had a bad fuse holder! I changed the holder and have had no trouble since. Just thought I'd share and maybe save somebody some time and trouble.

Thanks for sharing, too much resistance in the fuse holder caused it, I'll bet.

Yep. The part that's hard for me to take is that I'm an electrician an missed it this long. I guess you don't quit learning till you quit breathing.
