Kelly 1,033 #1 Posted May 25, 2010 I mounted my NOS 50" grader blade on my 520 does a great job, BUT you can not angle it, it will not pivot far enough to lock in the factory slots!!!!! it hits the front tires I don't want to modify it so I guess I will be putting one of my forward swept axles on the 520, so if you are wanting a 50" grader keep that in mind you will have to modify it or have a forward swept axle, but it still does a great job in the straight position. rickv1957 74 #2 Posted May 25, 2010 Kelly, thats odd,Ive used the same blade on lots of my tractors and worked great, Rick
CasualObserver 3,411 #3 Posted May 25, 2010 Kelly, how close is it, and what rear hitch are you using? Would it help to add/remove and spacers in that rear hitch and raise or lower the mounting point?
Jim_M 179 #4 Posted May 25, 2010 I have the same blade and have had it on my 416H with no problems.
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted May 26, 2010 I'll get some pictures tomorrow I just got in the house , I'm wiped out.
Kelly 1,033 #6 Posted May 27, 2010 Ok I got pictures and did some thinking, on the tractors you guys had a 50" grader on did they have 6" or 8" wheels?? I think with 6" it might work, here is what I'm up against, or rather the blade is against Blade as far as it will go and not latch Axle bracket and the latch almost but not quit, even if it did latch, my tires wiould not move
C-Series14 15 #7 Posted May 27, 2010 8" wheels here! Have mine on my C-161 right now, works on my C-175, works on my C-141...This is interesting! It looks like we both have it mounted the same way, unless that blade is longer from the axle mount to the front of the blade with the blade sqaure??? rickv1957 74 #8 Posted May 27, 2010 I would have to agree with C-Series,maybe your blade is a little longer framed for a newer 520 only,Rick
Jim_M 179 #9 Posted May 27, 2010 I have 8" wheels on the front of the 416-H. What's the model number on your blade? I'll look at mine tomorrow night and see if it's the same one. Looks like the same one from what I can see in the pictures. It also looks like the same hitch that I'm using, but for some reason it looks like your blade is sitting farther forward on the tractor than mine does.. Kelly 1,033 #10 Posted May 27, 2010 I'll get the model no. tonight after work, could this be for the xi tractors?
Jim_M 179 #11 Posted May 27, 2010 I had a little time before work this morning so I got my model number. It's 07-50BM03. The manual shows the rear mounting bracket to be part # 104659. It also shows to use a spacer, #7713, between the mounting bracket an the rear axle on 8 speed tractors. I know that doesn't apply to your situation though. Kelly 1,033 #12 Posted May 28, 2010 Mine is a 79356 I just looked it up it's for a xi series tractor, they must have a longer wheelbase, no biggy I'll swap my forward swept axle and should have it covered :D
MaineDad 87 #13 Posted May 28, 2010 Kelly, What hole do you have the lift bar inserted into?
Kelly 1,033 #14 Posted May 28, 2010 The hole all the way to the top, it was the only hole the lift link would fit to, it's a long link, and that would not affect the forward position, only how high or low it will travel, and that is about perfect, I can go about 1" below grade so it will dig some. MaineDad 87 #15 Posted May 28, 2010 I've seen some people try to use the other side of the bell crank... I'm going to use a Mid Grader blade tomorrow on my C-120 and will try to take some pics and look for clues for you too...
KC9KAS 4,744 #16 Posted May 28, 2010 Do you have chains on the front tires???? If not, the blade is on backwards, isn't it? (from the 1st picture)
Kelly 1,033 #17 Posted May 28, 2010 Yes chains and weights on the front and back, didn't take them off from winter duty, I just mounted my rear suitcase weight bar, but need to have my weights machined to fit the bar, the slots in them are not quit big enough. more on that later.
